The U.S. Department of State has announced the selection of 黑料社区 alumna Kelly Nault of Pinellas Park, Florida, for a virtual project engaging with English language learners and teachers online at Peru's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Nault is among the more than 100 Virtual English Language Educator Program participants for the 2024-25 academic year.
Nault will be working with ministry officials and public servants on their English language skills and their command of corresponding terminology. Since 2014, Nault has been working as an English as a Second Language (ESL) instructor virtually and in various cities across Morocco. She has a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from Eckerd College and received a Master of Arts in Teaching English as a Second Language from 黑料社区 Graduate Institute in 2022. Her passion for fostering cross-cultural exchange has been a driving force throughout her career.
The Virtual English Language Educator Program is the premier online opportunity for experienced teachers of English to speakers of other languages (TESOL) to enact meaningful and sustainable changes in the way that English is taught abroad, according to a statement from the U.S. State Department. "Through projects developed by U.S. embassies in more than 80 countries, Virtual Educators work with local teachers, students, and educational professionals to improve the quality of English language instruction offered at prestigious universities, academic institutions, and cultural centers," the statement continues.
English Language Programs has placed thousands of TESOL scholars and educators with international partner institutions, abroad and virtually, to promote English language learning, enhance English teaching capacity, and foster mutual understanding between the U.S. and other countries through cultural exchange. The projects are challenging and the teachers selected are considered the best of the U.S. TESOL community. Virtual Educators are among the more than 50,000 individuals participating in U.S. Department of State exchange programs each year.
